I'm pretty unfamiliar with most hardware products, and I had no clue what this was when I saw it. This is an eye to eye turnbuckle. Turnbuckles are used to add or release tension on cables. They are typically used for suspension bridges, cables in flight control systems, and rigging and lashing on ships
